Conversations with God

Conversations with God

Conversations with God

Conversations with God should be the norm. They should come naturally. And yet, they don’t always come naturally. Why?

We live in an ungodly world. If you watch TV, you won’t see people having conversations with God. You may hear about people talking with other people, talking to themselves, or even having conversations or getting advice from demons, but you won’t see them having a conversation with God. If you listen to the radio, the same thing happens. The media and education system work together against God, and that’s not entirely by accident. They don’t mind religion, but they don’t want the true God. Even many in the church stopped talking about having conversations with God. Some Christians even fear seeking God. They say they believe the Bible, but they don’t believe the Bible when it says that we need to listen to Jesus Christ. No one who seeks Christ sincerely will receive anything other than Christ. Here are some Bible verses you can look up, but there are many other verses in the Bible on this subject: John 10:27, Matthew 7:7–11, Jeremiah 29:13, Luke 11:13, Proverbs 8:17, Hebrews 11:6, Revelation 3:20, John 8:47, Luke 6:46–47, and John 10:16.

The Bible says God speaks to every person. Jesus is the Light, and He gives light to every person (John 1:9). ALL wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him (Colossians 2:3). And He gives wisdom and knowledge to every person (James 1:5, 1 Corinthians 1:30). Some people refuse to thank Him or even give Him the credit for the wisdom and knowledge He gives, and the Bible tells the consequences to those who don’t thank Him and give Him the glory (Romans 1). When God gives people understanding, they usually take the glory for themselves.

So, why don’t people speak about their conversations with God? The culture of the world is fallen under the control of Satan and opposes God’s leading. It encourages pride. It mocks those who listen to God. Even some Christians mock the truth that God is the ONLY Source of ALL wisdom and knowledge of the Truth. If you listen to God, the truth you receive is always in part, and your carnal mind may fill in the blanks and trick you. If you don’t listen to God, your carnal mind will absolutely trick you. Jesus is the Truth, and He is the ONLY Truth. So intimidation is a factor. Conditioning is a factor. Habit is a factor. And the influence of demons and the fallen carnal mind is a factor.

These are some of the reasons conversations with God are not the norm. There are no good reasons.

Now, you can have conversations with God. Here’s a short, concise explanation of how to do that. You can do it by asking questions, although you aren’t limited to asking questions. You can tell God you love Him any time you like. You can praise Him and thank Him for all He gives you. And you ought to do that all the time. It’s good to set aside some time every day to seek God to listen to His voice. If you do that, He will speak to you. He will lead you and teach you. He will even correct you from time to time. And you can look to Him regardless of what you’re doing. Why wouldn’t you want to live your life flowing with the wisdom and knowledge of the One Who knows all things and has all knowledge?

Your conversations with God will continue to go deeper and deeper as you continue to spend time in God’s presence. When you work, let His wisdom flow through you. When you’re trying to solve a problem, let Him counsel you. If you lose something, ask God to help you find it instead of stressing over it. Ask Him to answer the hard questions. God will reveal all the hidden secrets of truth to you. With truth comes freedom and power for righteousness. Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love. God designed you to be connected to Him. Without that constant connection, nothing works right. Learn to stand in God’s presence and hear His voice. Then teach others to do the same.

Ask God to answer these questions:

Why don’t you talk to God more than you do?
What does it mean that you live in an ungodly world?
Why don’t people talk about having conversations with God as much as they should?
What are some of the ways God speaks to every person?
The Bible says Jesus is the Light. What does that mean?

Bonus questions:

Why do some people take the glory for the wisdom and knowledge God gives them?
What are some of the reasons people don’t have conversations with God?
How can you talk to God and listen to Him in conversations?

If you are attacked because you believe what God says to you through Scripture

If you are attacked because you believe what God says to you through Scripture

If you are attacked because you believe what God says to you through Scripture

Stay Calm and Professional.
Why: Emotional responses can make you appear defensive or less credible.
How: Take a deep breath and maintain a tone of reason and respect, even when the criticism is harsh and unfair. Respond to the argument, not the emotion behind it.
Important: Look for any truth in the attack or any area where it points out that you could improve. Admit your faults right away and look to God to find out what you should do about them.

Refocus on Evidence and Logic.
Why: Grounding your argument in evidence makes it harder for others to dismiss you as irrational or unscientific. Remember that logic must be based on truth or it is unsound. Point out that the human mind can’t reason to truth. Typically, godless thinkers try to find some argument against this fact, but there is no rational argument against it. At a certain point, they are just making up stuff and calling the made-up stuff true. When they are talking about “evidence,” they are generally talking about a certain interpretation of an observation or Scripture. That interpretation is based on certain unprovable assumptions, so their claim of “evidence” is actually a claim that their unprovable assumptions are true. There is nothing irrational about divine revelation. God speaks through the Bible and every means of divine revelation mentioned in the Bible. In fact, the only certain way to know the Bible is God’s word without error is the fact that the Holy Spirit testifies to its reliability whenever you ask God about it.
How: Ask questions like, “That’s an interesting perspective. Obviously, you have a reason for saying that. Do you mind if I ask you what it is?” You are gently and respectfully asking them how they know what they are claiming. And you are digging down to the root. They may be thinking this through for the first time in their lives, so be kind and understanding but persistent to get down to the root. You will have to be patient and continue to ask how they know each of their statements are true. They may shut down the conversation as they realize they have no true basis for what they’re saying. If they are wrong, the root will be, “I guess I’m just making the whole thing up.” The other option is divine revelation. You may be talking to a Christian who feels he or she has received direct divine revelation. In that case, if you don’t receive a confirmation from the Holy Spirit, it’s best to agree that you will both continue to pray about it and ask God to give clear leading. Don’t assume you are right. Otherwise, you can emphasize the scientific basis or logical inconsistencies in the axioms being questioned. For example: “I’m wondering whether these assumptions can stand up to the same level of scrutiny applied to other scientific theories.”

Point Out the Fallacy.
Why: Exposing flaws in the argument of your opponent can make them question baseless attacks.
How: If you’re being attacked for dogmatism, calmly point out the projection or double standard without being accusatory.

“It’s ironic that those who value open inquiry would label dissent as anti-science instead of engaging with the evidence. Can you provide evidence that God doesn’t act on the material world?”

Ask Thoughtful Questions, and when they answer, ask thoughtful questions about their answers.
Why: Shifting the burden of proof forces others to reflect on their assumptions.
How: Politely ask questions like:
“What is the evidence supporting the claim that these axioms must not be questioned?”
“If science is about testing assumptions, why shouldn’t these be tested too?”
Caution: Shifting the burden of proof becomes a foolish game if you imply that you don’t also have the burden of proof. Both people always have the burden of proof. However, no one can really prove anything to another person. Ultimately, God must prove the truth to all of us.

Find Allies.
Why: Being part of a supportive community can strengthen your position and credibility.
How: Connect with others who share your concerns or who value intellectual diversity, whether within scientific circles, faith-based groups, or interdisciplinary discussions. If necessary, you would stand alone with God against the whole world, but it’s good to have at least one friend who agrees with you. That’s one of the reasons for the church.

Disarm with Humility.
Why: Acknowledging uncertainties shows you’re committed to truth, not an agenda.
How: You can say:

“I’m open to revising my perspective as new evidence emerges. My goal is to pursue truth, wherever that leads. In fact, God is constantly correcting me, so I’m in a constant condition of transformation.”

Expose the Circular Reasoning.
Why: Revealing the self-reinforcing logic of their claims can be a powerful counter.
How: Show how their argument depends on assuming the very thing in question.

“If the rules of science assume God cannot be involved, how can we honestly evaluate evidence that might suggest otherwise?”

“If we say the Flood recorded in the Bible couldn’t have happened because there isn’t enough water to cover the whole earth, we would be assuming the Flood didn’t happen the way it’s recorded in the Bible to prove that the Flood didn’t happen the way it’s recorded in the Bible. Let me explain. The Bible says that the water for the flood came from inside the earth. It says that the mountains raised up  and the valleys, the bottom of the oceans, dropped down at the end of the Flood. That would mean that the mountains were much lower and the oceans weren’t as deep before the flood, so it would take much less water to cover the whole earth. When the mountains raised up and the oceans got deeper, the water ran off into the oceans. Can you see how that changes the entire perspective?”

Document and Respond Publicly if the Attacks Are Public.
Why: A written or public response ensures your argument is clear and accessible.
How: If appropriate, publish articles, blog posts, or social media updates where you clearly explain your position and counter the attacks. Ensure your tone is respectful and constructive.

Highlight the Bigger Picture.
Why: Reminding others of the core principles of science (or faith) reframes the conversation.
How: Say something like:

“Science is about following the evidence wherever it leads. Shouldn’t we embrace that spirit, even when it challenges deeply held assumptions?”

Trust in God’s Guidance.
Why: As a person of faith, leaning on prayer and discernment ensures your response aligns with God’s will.
How: Pray for wisdom, grace, and the ability to respond with love, even in the face of hostility. Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Seek to speak only the words He speaks through you by His authority and power. Let His glory and essence in you flow out in all the fruit of the Spirit beginning with love.

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean to stay calm and professional?
Why is it important for you to use evidence and logic when talking to someone?
What is a fallacy?
Why should you ask thoughtful questions when talking to someone?
How do you find people who agree with you?

Bonus questions:

What does it mean for you to disarm with humility?
What is circular reasoning?
Why should you write or talk about what you believe publicly?
What is the bigger picture in science or faith?
How do you trust in God’s guidance when talking to others?

AVOID THESE DEEP AND DANGEROUS LIES

AVOID THESE DEEP AND DANGEROUS LIES

AVOID THESE DEEP AND DANGEROUS LIES

This post will touch lightly on several deep and dangerous lies. It won’t go into depth on any of them. The culture works hard to convince us of these lies. What’s the root, the mother of all lies? The root of the problem is the idea that the human mind can make up stuff and the made-up stuff is true. Of course, the intellectuals would never say it like that. It’s too obviously silly. They say they depend of evidence, logic, and reason. However, all rational thought must be based on truth. What do they say when you ask them where they get truth? Keep in mind that the human mind can’t reason to truth. And there is no way to understand evidence, observations, experiments, or experiences without truth. So, what do they say? They say, “Some truths are self-evident.” They say, “humans have truth their minds just know without needing to experience, observe, or receive divine revelation.” How silly, but it sounds almost right when they confidently proclaim it. They are saying, “We, the intellectual elite, all agree on certain ‘truths,’ and you lesser person, should just believe us because of our superior minds.” They use the word “axiom” because it sounds better than “made-up stuff.”

Axiom: A self-evident principle or one that is accepted as true without proof as the basis for argument; a postulate.

This is the lie of axioms. (more detail below) From the lie of axioms comes the lie of materialism, which claims only the material world exists. It is a form of atheism–no God, spirits, heaven, or hell. Building on materialism is the lie of naturalism, which claims there is a natural explanation for everything. In other words, God does nothing. From there, the liars expand to uniformitarianism, which claims everything has always been as it is now. This is the claim that the creation event and the Genesis Flood never happened. One sneaky lie is called “scientism.” Scientism is the unproven belief that science is the best (or only) path to knowledge. With all the lies of the ungodly, you will receive pressure, ridicule, hate, and even persecution if you don’t blindly support and embrace the lies of the culture.

Now, we will get to the twin lies of billions of years and molecules-to-humanity evolution. Think of the childish name-calling that so-called “intellectuals” use. Scientists who challenge or reject this story called “evolution” have often been labeled with terms meant to discredit their credibility or dismiss their views. Some of these terms include:

Creationist – Often used dismissively, implying the person rejects science.
Pseudoscientist – Suggesting they don’t use legitimate scientific methods.
Anti-science – Implying they are opposed to scientific progress or understanding.
Fundamentalist – Implying Biblical truth conflicts with scientific observations.
Science denier – The term “denier” implies that the stories of molecules turning into humans over billions of years are absolute truth. The term “science denier” implies that the stories of molecules-to-humanity-evolution are science, which they are not. They are stories.
Unqualified – Often used to attack a scientist’s credibility, regardless of their actual expertise in related fields.
Dogmatic – Suggesting they are closed-minded and driven by dogma rather than rational thought and truth.
Religious zealot – Framing them as fanatical or overly emotional.
Flat-earther – A derogatory term lumping them in with the flat earth idea. (Flat earth was cleverly promoted by an atheist as a way to deceive Christians. Flat earth is not in the Bible even though the atheist has managed to deceive some Christians by twisting some Scriptures by making stating assumptions as if they were facts.)
Obscurantist – Accusing them of deliberately trying to obscure or block scientific progress.

Ungodly thinkers often use these terms, or terms like them, in debates or discussions to frame anyone who questions the dogmas of old earth, evolution, or any other idea they want to push as unscientific or biased, regardless of the scientific merits of their research. Name-calling and ridicule are always irrational and childish. And yet, these tactics work because no one likes to be ridiculed or called a nasty name.

Ungodly thinkers are dogmatic and religiously zealous about many ungodly, unproven, and unprovable “axioms.” When a person questions these “axioms,” these ungodly thinkers accuse them of the very thing of which the ungodly thinkers themselves are guilty. This is known as projection—attributing their own faults, behaviors, or motivations to others. In this case, it’s accusing Christians of dogmatism or fanatical devotion to a cause while evolutionists are driven by their own dogmatism or fanatical devotion to the causes of ungodliness. No person who truly knows Christ is driven by dogmatism or fanatical devotion to a doctrine, organization, or other cause. As followers of Christ, we follow Christ, not a doctrine, prominent personality, or organization. We know Christ exists because of our personal experience with Him. We know Christ. He leads us. We know the Bible is reliable because the Holy Spirit reveals that fact to us, and He speaks to us through the Bible. We covered the stories called “evolution,” but what about people who think perversion is normal? What about the many other lies we hear all around us? What about all the other crazy ideas the media and educational systems push on us?

When you tell a dogmatic unbeliever about your experiences with Christ, that person may be fanatic enough to mock or ridicule you. When someone attacks you or ridicules you, it sometimes helps to ask questions to find out what they are thinking and why they are thinking it. You can try asking questions rather than arguing. It rarely helps to stoop to their level and enter into an angry argument.

Ask God to answer these questions:

What is a creationist?
What is projection?
Why is it projection when an evolutionist calls a creationist a pseudoscientist?
Why do some people say Bible-believers are anti-science?
Why do people call anyone who disagrees with them “unqualified?”

Bonus questions:

What should you do if someone calls you a fundamentalist?
What should you do if someone calls you dogmatic?
What should you do if someone calls you a religious zealot?
What should you do if someone calls you a flat-earther?
What should you do if someone calls you a science-denier?
Has anyone ever called you a name or ridiculed you for being a Christian? What did they do, and how did you handle it?

FREEDOM IN THE SPIRIT

FREEDOM IN THE SPIRIT

FREEDOM IN THE SPIRIT

You can have freedom in the Spirit.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17).”

When you try to follow Jesus Christ by your own power, you get bondage and frustration. In Christ, you are free.

Galatians 5:1 states, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free; stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

In context of Galatians, the yoke of slavery is trying to be righteous by your own efforts rather that receiving God’s righteousness as a free gift.

Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?”

Some Christians still say, “God gave us intelligent minds to figure things out.” That’s a deceitful statement.

Jeremiah 2:13 “For My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”

This Scripture sums up the problem. Religious people have many ways of trying to bottle up the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is like an ultimately powerful spiritual river that can’t be put into any dogma, theology, form, ritual, or any other bottle.

John 16:13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.”

You will have all truth. The truth will set you free. As anger, pride, and every human passion has made you a slave, the truth will set you free from all those passions. No vestige of them will be left. With freedom will come the power of the One Who created the heavens and the earth.

2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Truth brings freedom and power.

Ephesians 3:16 “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.”

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean that the Lord is the Spirit?
How does the Spirit bring freedom?
What does it mean when the Bible says the heart is deceitful?
What does it mean that Christ set you free?
What is a yoke of slavery?

God Created You to be Connected to Him.

God Created You to be Connected to Him.

God Created You to be Connected to Him.

Even if you have authentic divine revelation, the second you leave the Holy Spirit, that revelation is lifeless. You need Jesus. God created you to stay connected to Him at all times. Always walk in His presence, authority, and power. You need to be led by the Holy Spirit in everything. For example, Romans 8:14 says, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” This verse affirms that true children of God are guided by the Holy Spirit, emphasizing the importance of trusting His leading. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16) Listen to God and He will lead you in righteousness and give you power to walk in it.

The disciples had not yet received the Holy Spirit before Pentecost. In John 16:13, Jesus told them, “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.” Now, the Spirit of truth has come, and He is here to lead you into all truth. You don’t need the confusion and pain that comes from human reasoning.

The Holy Spirit gives you power to do God’s work. He provides strength and direction. Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” And Ephesians 3:16 says, “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.” Only by God’s leading and power can you live according to His will.

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

It’s good to be cautious when you think you have divine revelation. Divine revelation is always in part. The carnal mind tends to quietly fill in the blanks and cause errors. That means you might get it wrong, but you are certain to get it wrong if you don’t depend fully on the Holy Spirit to explain Scripture and to lead you in your daily life.

Ask God to answer these questions:

Why can’t your human mind reason to truth?
The ontic fallacy is any claim of objectivity. Why can’t human beings get outside themselves to be objective?
What is the only way to overcome the fact that humans can’t be objective?
Since all wisdom and knowledge are hidden Christ, why do ungodly people have some wisdom and knowledge?
What about science? Why isn’t science the source of all wisdom and knowledge?

Bonus questions:

Why do you need Jesus to stay connected to God?
Why do you need the Holy Spirit to stay connected to God?
What happens if you leave the Holy Spirit or reject the Holy Spirit?
Who were the disciples waiting for before Pentecost?

REPLACE JESUS WITH RULES, DOCTRINES, AND RELIGION

REPLACE JESUS WITH RULES, DOCTRINES, AND RELIGION

REPLACE JESUS WITH RULES, DOCTRINES, AND RELIGION

The Truth about Lies

Here’s the problem. Some people think they can’t have a real and close friendship with God. They think they can replace Jesus with rules, doctrines, and religion. That’s not true. And yet, God wants to flow through you by His Spirit of life, wisdom, and love every moment of every day. That’s true. Let me explain.

Your own thoughts and ideas are tricky, and they don’t want to follow God’s way. They might try to make God’s teachings into a set of rules or principles instead of letting the Holy Spirit guide you freely. They might tell you to do what everyone else is doing even when everyone else is doing wrong. The Holy Spirit is like a flowing river—it can’t be trapped in man-made rules, memorized doctrines, forms, or rituals.

“For My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” (Jeremiah 2:13)

It takes courage to listen to the Holy Spirit instead of caving in to those who pressure you. You need to trust the Holy Spirit to guide you. Your efforts to obey laws and rules won’t keep you true to God, but the Holy Spirit will. The Holy Spirit will never lead you to do what’s wrong but will give you power to do what’s right.

The fleshly nature (the heart) will offer to help you overcome the fleshly nature. It will try any religious thing to keep you from standing in the presence of God listening to God’s voice and allowing God’s Spirit to work through you.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

This verse emphasizes the deceptive nature of your thoughts and feelings, reinforcing the need to stay connected to God.

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean for you to have a close friendship with God?
Why can’t you just follow rules to be close to God?
What does it mean for the Holy Spirit to flow through you?
What is the difference between following God’s way and following man-made rules?
Why is the Holy Spirit compared to a flowing river?

Bonus questions:

Keep in mind that the term “word” when used in Scripture is translated from either a Greek or Hebrew word that means utterance or a word spoken. God speaks through Scripture and every means of divine revelation mentioned in Scripture. However, when Scripture speaks of “the Word of God,” it never uses a word that means “Scripture.”

Stand in the Counsel of the Holy One of Israel

Your body will be transformed.

Your body will be transformed.

Your body will be transformed.

Your body will be changed. Your emotions and rationalizations won’t be able to drive you into trouble, pain, and error.

Philippians 3:21 says, “Who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.”

This verse promises that believers will receive new, glorified bodies like Jesus’ resurrected body.

Again in 1 Corinthians 15:50-53 it says, “I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.”

This passage also describes the transformation of your earthly body into an immortal, glorified body.

Here, we have it again in Philippians 3:20-21 where it says, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.”

And then there’s 2 Corinthians 5:1-2 that says, “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling.”

Paul contrasts your current, temporary body (he calls it an earthly tent) with the new, eternal body you will receive.

“And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.” (1 Corinthians 15:49)

What a glorious salvation. What a wonderful way. And you are on the journey.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean that your body will be changed?
Your new body be like Jesus’ body. What will that be like?
What does it mean that flesh and blood can’t inherit the kingdom of God?
What is the last trumpet and why is it important?
What is the difference between a perishable and imperishable body?

Bonus questions:

What is the heavenly dwelling mentioned in 2 Corinthians 5?
Why will there be no more death, crying, or pain when the Kingdom of God is established on the earth?

The human faith is blind.
It leaps into dark,
And hopes to land in light.
It will not trust in God.
It starts with the human,
And that is where it ends.
It does not depend on the person of Jesus.
It can’t receive the things of God.
It is a reasoned faith.

The faith that is of God,
Has eyes to see His will.
It moves the Hand of God,
For it has come from Him
It starts with God,
And God will complete it.
It can’t be found outside of Christ Jesus.
It is not bound by things of earth.
It is the faith of God.

The human hope is weak.
It is a “hope so” hope.
It cannot light the way
It comes from human hearts.
It starts with the human,
And that is where it ends.
It does not depend on the person of Jesus.
Nor can it see the things of God.
It’s merely mortal hope.

The hope that is of God,
Can see what God will do.
It knows His promises,
For it has come from Him.
It starts with God,
And God will fulfill it.
It can’t be found outside of Christ Jesus.
It is not bound by things of earth.
It is the hope of God.

The human love receives.
It does not give away.
It never can be pure.
It comes from human hearts.
It starts with the human,
And that is where it ends.
It does not depend on the person of Jesus.
Nor can it love as Jesus loves.
It’s selfish, fleshly love.

The love that is of God,
Can do what God will do.
It has the pow’r of God,
For it has come from Him.
It starts with God,
And God will complete it.
It can’t be found outside of Christ Jesus.
It is not bound by things of earth.
It is the love of God.

For wisdom, joy, and peace,
And all that’s good and right,
There is a counterfeit,
Or else the genuine
That starts with God, and God is the essence.
That can’t be found outside of Christ Jesus,
That flows from God and can’t be mixed,
With any natural.

Bible: the complete removal of the carnal nature.

Bible: the complete removal of the carnal nature.

Bible: the complete removal of the carnal nature.

“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.” (Romans 8:19-25)

This says “revealing of the sons of God.” Other translations say “manifestation of the sons of God.” The word translated as “revealing” is a word that means “taking away a veil.” In the Bible, the veil is the rebellious carnal nature. It’s the flesh. The adoption is the redemption of our bodies. We’re getting new bodies. Biblical adoption is different from today’s adoption. In Biblical adoption, the son must be born as a true son of the Father. The adoption happens when the son has matured to the point he can be set into a position of authority in the Father’s business.

You mature spiritually as Christ is built up in you and your fleshly carnal nature diminishes. The Bible explains how. Turn your attention to Jesus. Praise and thank Him. Ask Him your questions. Listen as He speaks into your mind and directs you. You will know the difference between your own self-talk and the voice of your Creator. You will begin to see His glory and the body of Christ, and His grace will begin to work through you in what you say. As you yield to His righteousness, you grow.

That brings us back to 1 John 3:2 that says, “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” Christ is in you. He will appear when He’s fully formed and your carnal nature is gone.

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean for the sons of God to be revealed?
Why does creation groan and wait for the sons of God?
What is the bondage of corruption that creation needs to be free from?
What does it mean to get a new body through redemption?
The Bible mentions adoption, but how is the Bible’s adoption different from today’s adoption?

Bonus questions:

What does it mean to be mature enough to work in the Father’s business?
Why do you need perseverance to wait for what you hope for?
What is the veil that needs to be taken away?
How will you be like Jesus when He appears?
How does Christ become “fully formed” in you?

The Bible teaches the complete removal of the carnal nature.

The Bible teaches the complete removal of the carnal nature.

Ask God to answer these questions.

Be Careful How You Listen, Children

The image and likeness of Christ is who you are.

The image and likeness of Christ is who you are.

The image and likeness of Christ is who you are.

The image and likeness of Christ is who you are. Christ in you can’t sin. The carnal flesh can’t do what’s right. Faith comes as you hear God’s voice. Then you receive God’s grace, which is God’s power to do what’s right. You allow God to speak His words and do His works through you. You let the love of God flow through you to everyone around you. When you do this, the Holy Spirit plants the Seed of Jesus Christ into your heart. You are changed by degrees to be like Him. This isn’t one and done. This is an ongoing process from glory to glory that is done by the Spirit of the Lord as you yield yourself to Him.

A day is coming when you will awake with the image of God.

“As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness (Psalm 17:15).”

You will have Christ fully formed within you. That doesn’t just happen while you sit back and do nothing. You must listen to God’s voice now. You must yield to His Spirit. The bride (the church) must have an intimate relationship with the Bridegroom. God keeps telling you to enter into the Spirit more completely and to enter into the authority that comes with faith. Then you have authority to take hold of the power of grace, and God’s grace will do God’s will through you. You, of course, must yield to God’s grace so He can do His will in and through you. He doesn’t force Himself on you.

“My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you (Galatians 4:19).”

Paul says he wants Christ to be fully formed within believers, showing that the process of spiritual maturity and transformation ends in complete victory.

“For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed (Romans 8:19-25).”

This refers to the future time when the sons of God (believers) will be fully revealed in glory.

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean that Christ in you can’t sin?
Why can’t your carnal flesh do what’s right?
How does hearing God’s voice give you faith?
How does God’s grace help you do what’s right?
How does the Holy Spirit plant the Seed of Jesus Christ in your heart?

Bonus questions:

What does it mean to awake in the image of God?
Why does the church, Christ’s bride, need an intimate relationship with Jesus, the Bridegroom?
What is the authority that comes to you with faith?
Why does Paul describe spiritual growth as being like childbirth?
What does it mean for the children of God to be revealed in glory?
