How do you get God’s grace? What are the means of grace? Romans 5:1b-2

How do you get God’s grace? What are the means of grace?

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand.” ~ Romans 5:1b-2

What does Romans 5:1b-2 tell you? It says you gained access into this grace. And you gained access into this grace by faith. Faith gave you that access. Faith allowed grace to take hold of you. Faith is the key that opened your door to grace. You stand in this grace. You couldn’t stand without this grace. Grace causes you to stand in Christ and to walk in His righteousness. Only by grace are you able to stand. Only by grace are you able to walk in God’s will.

God also says we currently see as if looking into a mirror in the dark.

God also says we currently see as if looking into a mirror in the dark.

God is conforming you to the image and likeness of Jesus Christ right now from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord as you allow Him to draw back the veil of your flesh so you can see His glory as if looking at an image in a mirror. (see 2 Corinthians 3:18) God mentions a mirror three times in the New Testament. In all three cases, He’s using the mirror as a type or shadow of something that He’s doing in the spiritual realm. He says a person who doesn’t do what he or she hears God lead him to do is like a man who looks at himself in a mirror and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. (see James 1:23-27) God leads, teaches, and corrects you. When God speaks to you, He speaks His vision of hope. In God’s vision of hope, you see yourself, but this is a spiritual mirror, so you don’t see your flesh. You see the Christ formed in you. You identify with the Christ in you. And you see how you fit into the Church. You also see what is and is not the Church.

God, speaking through Paul, says everything you currently do and know is in part, but when you have complete knowledge, then the partial is done away. (see 1 Corinthians 13:8-12) You may now speak by the Holy Spirit sporadically, but the completeness is coming when you will be complete in Christ and totally conformed to Him and His will. Then, you will have perfect discernment. God’s leading (that’s like looking into a mirror) is changing us. (2 Corinthians 3:18) You are overcoming with each new leading if you listen and yield yourself to God’s Spirit. God speaks, you hear, and faith comes. Jesus Christ, the utterance of God, authors God’s faith in you. Faith accesses God’s grace. God’s grace says God’s words and does God’s acts through you if you do your part. Your part is to yield the members of your body to God’s righteousness and allow God’s grace to work through you. As you yield to the Holy Spirit and God’s righteousness, you allow God’s Spirit to plant the Holy Seed (the Word, the Christ) into your heart. God’s Spirit transforms you.

Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is your identity.

Christ in you, the hope of glory.
He is your identity.

Christ in you, the hope of glory.
He is your identity.
Human flesh is not your focus.
Christ within is all you see.

Christ in you, the hope of glory.
The Spiritual Man Who cannot sin.
Christ in you, the hope of glory.
That’s Who you are, the ministry within.

Christ in you, the hope of glory.
No more sickness. No more strife.
Christ in you, the hope of glory.
In His presence you find life.

It will make human ideas about love, justice, and peace look pathetic. This is transformation beyond your wildest hopes. You’ve always sensed an inner longing for something more. Those two keys alone won’t open the door to your total transfiguration into the image and likeness of Christ. Three more keys remain.

God intends to transform you and make you like Jesus.

God intends to transform you and make you like Jesus. He’s already building Christ in you. Christ is in you if you have been born again. The mighty Word of God the Father used to create the World lives in you and has become your identity. No longer do you identify with the fleshly nature, but you are the Christ nature. He does this by speaking the Word to you. He leads you. Faith comes as the Word authors faith in you. Faith gives you authority for whatever God told you when He led you by His Word. However, authority isn’t enough. You also need God’s power. And God’s power for righteousness is His grace. The faith that the Word authored in you gives you access to the power of grace, and grace does God’s work though you. The Word finishes your faith through works, but you must yield the members of your body to His righteousness since He won’t force Himself on you. When you yield, the Holy Spirit plants the Holy Seed of the Word in the good ground of your heart, and you are transfigured a bit to be like Jesus. You are changed. Christ in you has become more, and your fleshly nature has become less. The Light of the World has become brighter in your heart, and the darkness has lost its power over you.

The liar will say faith is belief WITHOUT evidence when faith IS the evidence. Some deceived Christians will say faith is belief BASED ON evidence when faith IS the evidence.

The world and demons will try to convince you that you can get faith some other way. Your soul’s enemy doesn’t want you listening to God’s voice in willing submission and deep respect. Someone may claim you have to do works of piety to get faith. Demonic voices will try to get you to use your intellect, emotion, knowledge, observation, common sense, or something else to get faith. None of that works.

The enemy will say faith is belief, but you have to presuppose God exists, and you have to presuppose the Bible is God’s word without error. You don’t have to presuppose anything. God reveals He exists. He makes it so plain to you that you know by divine revelation. The same for the Bible. God shows you the Bible is His word without error. He doesn’t have to prove it to you. He tells you. His Word to you is proof. You don’t have to presuppose God’s revelation or figure it out.
