The narrow way is very narrow and constricted since whatever God didn’t lead you to do, give you faith for, and do through you by the power of His grace is sin. Sin is stepping off the Pathway to Life. The Pathway to Life is Jesus Christ. Sin is the act of stepping off the Pathway of life.

“whatsoever is not of faith is sin” (Romans 14:23).

Satan tries to divert you away from God’s narrow way to an old, old deception. This deception is to create or use a system of laws, rules, principles, or axioms instead of having a real relationship with Christ. Even Atheists set up a set of rules. Christians often do the same thing, thinking that the rules will be safer than listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. And fallen human minds rationalize all kinds of ideas to support that type of thinking.

The Holy Spirit will lead you into holiness. God is never in conflict with Himself. Even though the carnal nature is deceitful and desperately wicked, God knows how to communicate with anyone who is open to Him. Jesus said His sheep know His voice, and they won’t listen to a stranger. He also said the Father knows how to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask for it. The Bible says those who are deceived go into deception even though they know better. It’s implied in Romans 1 and other places. It says, “They are without excuse.”

You even reject the rambling thoughts of your fallen mind. Your ability to discern increasingly becomes more acute as the Holy Spirit transforms you. In the same way, those who fail to listen to God’s leading and don’t yield to His Spirit go into a downward spiral, and God’s leading becomes increasingly unclear.

Our walk is an upward spiral. I’ll give a quick overview now, but I’ll explain later. God speaks to every person. He speaks His Living Word to you. You acknowledge Him, pay attention to the authority of His voice, and lean heavily on Him. The Living Word of God authors God’s faith in you. (Hebrews 12:2) Faith comes by hearing. (Romans 10:17) As you let His Spirit flow into you, God reveals that your flesh can offer nothing. You access grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8) As you yield to the power of God’s grace, God’s grace does God’s works through you. (Romans 5:17) God plants the Seed of Christ in your heart. (Matthew 13:3-23) He builds up Christ in you this way from one instant to the next. This upward spiral repeats moment by moment and each cycle begins when God speaks His Word to you. You grow in Christ with each upward cycle, but your progress may seem imperceptible, so you need to exercise patience. This is walking in the Spirit. And it will bring you to spiritual maturity step-by-step. As you grow in maturity you develop spiritual eyes to see and ears to hear.

There Are Those Who Love To Say

There are those who love to say,
“The natural holds all the sway!”
While trying to explain away
The things that God does every day.

They tell us that we cannot know
The God above while here below.
And so they put on quite a show
To try to prove we cannot know.

But God does move. We see His Hand.
We hear His Voice. In Him, we stand.
For we know everything is planned,
And all things move at God’s command.

Listen to God’s voice.

“While it is said, To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation” (Hebrews 3:15 KJV).

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4b KJV).

Yield to God’s Spirit.

“Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God” (Romans 6:13 KJV).

We call that “being led by the Holy Spirit,” and God made it a priority for us since 1948. Yet we haven’t fully taken hold of it. Why? When the Spirit leads us, we hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. He speaks a vision, and we see it. God tells us to ask Him for spiritual eyes to see and ears to hear. We can only recognize the gifts of the Spirit, the ministries in Christ’s body, and God’s leading as the Holy Spirit reveals them to us. We must also realize that everything good comes from God and we can’t self-generate anything good.

THEOLOGIANS AND SCHOLARS

Theologians and scholars all arguing about,
Some verses in the Bible they think they figured out.
Where is the wise man, where is the sage,
Where’s the debater of this age.
They’re all quite offended and amazed,
That God has rejected all their man-made ways.

Remember what the saints of old have said,
“There are certain limits to the brain inside your head.
If we know some doctrine, _ we know it just in part.
Our own understanding puts the horse behind the cart.

The mind of man cannot figure out,
What the word of God is all about.
He prefers to believe what he prefers to be true.
His imagination will dream up something new,
Or else his old traditions make it difficult to move.
Interpreting the Scripture is a thing he cannot do.

Paul had to tell them he was set to be
One of the apostolic ministries.
As such he taught the doctrine as ordained,
And if they were all hearers and doers they would gain.

If you yield to the Spirit, God will show you the truth.
The natural mind is enmity, but God will pull you through.
See the foundation set in it’s place.
Come in submission to His grace.
The proud and their opinions, God will abase.
But he will not reject any who truly seek His face.

David and his men built a new cart.
They had this great idea for carrying the ark.
God doesn’t need ideas as He showed us on that day.
He gave us fair warning that he needs us to obey.

They all believe the Bible, at least they say they do.
But there are just some verses they can’t believe are true.
Perhaps they are outdated so that they don’t apply.
Or else they’re unimportant and easy to deny.
With great intelligence, they keep explaining why.
But every time they move their mouth, you hear another lie.

Jeremiah said, “Be careful what you do.”
If you say, “The Lord said,” something, just make sure it’s true.
The Lord won’t tell me one thing and another thing to you.
If His Spirit leads us, He will end the Hullabaloo.

Those who never were sent by God, yet on their own they ran,
They don’t want to wait on God, so they form their own plan.
They think they need no healer, so they can’t be healed.
From these the things of God are all concealed,
Whose great and prideful mind could never yield,
But to the meek obedient heart, God’s will is revealed.

Miriam wouldn’t honor and obey!
She said, “Couldn’t anybody else but Moses lead the way?”
God told her it was He, set Moses in that place.
To some He spoke through visions but to Moses, face to face

Two things must happen to prepare us to qualify for this responsibility, and these are the two things the Holy Spirit has been doing in us as we listen to His leading and yield ourselves to His righteousness so He can work through us. First, the Holy Spirit forms Christ in us. He becomes our identity. Second, the Light of Christ demolishes the old fleshly nature we inherited from Adam. God has shown us His Way to form Christ in us and remove the fleshly veil.

To form Christ in us and remove the fleshly veil

The Words of Life Are Only Words

The words of life are only words until each one is formed
Until it’s worked within your life, and that new creation born.
You can talk of high and mighty things, and still not pay the price,
But unless it’s formed within you, you’re not walking in an endless Life.

Now the words you speak, when brought by mind, are shallow and not real
My Words are pure light, and the power you will feel.
Be not afraid of faces Sons, for this is your Day, it’s here,
For I am separating wheat from chaff, translation time is near.
