Worldview versus Revelation

Humans have a limited ability to observe. We do the best we can. How do you interpret what you observe? You can choose to use your own mind, or you can ask God about it. If you choose to use your own mind, your mind filters out much of what you observe. You filter out whatever doesn’t match your preconceptions. You built that filter slowly using your existing assumptions and presuppositions and the influences and pressures of the devil, the culture, and your sinful flesh. And you continue to build that filter. As you observe the world around you, you can only perceive what you already believe. Anything ouyside of what you already believe seems weird and unreal. That means you get an impression of the world that almost perfectly reflects your existing worldview. You use that impression to confirm your worldview. That’s what confirmation bias is all about. On the other hand, you can listen to Jesus.

The glory of this heritage, when revealed, shall far surpass our feeble attempt to explain or imagine what it shall be like.

The glory of this heritage, when revealed, shall far surpass our feeble attempt to explain or imagine what it shall be like. This secret place shall be to those who fear Him. It is a place in which we are shut away from the world, even though dwelling right in the midst of its turmoil and its dangers. ~ “Feast of Tabernacles”
