God created you to stay connected to Him at all times.

God created you to stay connected to Him at all times.

God created you to stay connected to Him at all times.

Even if you have authentic divine revelation, the second you leave the Holy Spirit, that revelation is lifeless. You need Jesus. God created you to stay connected to Him at all times. You need to be led by the Holy Spirit in everything. For example, Romans 8:14 says, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” This verse affirms that true children of God are guided by the Holy Spirit, emphasizing the importance of trusting His leading. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16) Listen to God and He will lead you in righteousness and give you power to walk in it.

The disciples had not yet received the Holy Spirit before Pentecost. In John 16:13, Jesus told them, “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.” Now, the Spirit of truth has come, and He is here to lead you into all truth. You don’t need the confusion and pain that comes from human reasoning.

The Holy Spirit gives you power to do God’s work. He provides strength and direction. Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” And Ephesians 3:16 says, “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.” Only by God’s leading and power can you live according to His will.

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

It’s good to be cautious when you think you have divine revelation. Divine revelation is always in part. The carnal mind tends to quietly fill in the blanks and cause errors. That means you might get it wrong, but you are certain to get it wrong if you don’t depend fully on the Holy Spirit to explain Scripture and to lead you in your daily life.

Ask God to answer these questions:

Why can’t your human mind reason to truth?
The ontic fallacy is any claim of objectivity. Why can’t human beings get outside themselves to be objective?
What is the only way to overcome the fact that humans can’t be objective?
Since all wisdom and knowledge are hidden Christ, why do ungodly people have some wisdom and knowledge?
What about science? Why isn’t science the source of all wisdom and knowledge?

Bonus questions:

Why do you need Jesus to stay connected to God?
Why do you need the Holy Spirit to stay connected to God?
What happens if you leave the Holy Spirit or reject the Holy Spirit?
Who were the disciples waiting for before Pentecost?
What does it mean that the Spirit of truth will guide you?
How does the Holy Spirit give you power?
Why do I need power from the Holy Spirit to do God’s work?
What is meant by being a witness for Jesus?

REPLACE JESUS WITH RULES, DOCTRINES, AND RELIGION

REPLACE JESUS WITH RULES, DOCTRINES, AND RELIGION

REPLACE JESUS WITH RULES, DOCTRINES, AND RELIGION

The Truth about Lies

Here’s the problem. Some people think they can’t have a real and close friendship with God. They think they can replace Jesus with rules, doctrines, and religion. That’s not true. And yet, God wants to flow through you by His Spirit of life, wisdom, and love every moment of every day. That’s true. Let me explain.

Your own thoughts and ideas are tricky, and they don’t want to follow God’s way. They might try to make God’s teachings into a set of rules or principles instead of letting the Holy Spirit guide you freely. They might tell you to do what everyone else is doing even when everyone else is doing wrong. The Holy Spirit is like a flowing river—it can’t be trapped in man-made rules, memorized doctrines, forms, or rituals.

“For My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” (Jeremiah 2:13)

It takes courage to listen to the Holy Spirit instead of caving in to those who pressure you. You need to trust the Holy Spirit to guide you. Your efforts to obey laws and rules won’t keep you true to God, but the Holy Spirit will. The Holy Spirit will never lead you to do what’s wrong but will give you power to do what’s right.

The fleshly nature (the heart) will offer to help you overcome the fleshly nature. It will try any religious thing to keep you from standing in the presence of God listening to God’s voice and allowing God’s Spirit to work through you.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

This verse emphasizes the deceptive nature of your thoughts and feelings, reinforcing the need to stay connected to God.

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean for you to have a close friendship with God?
Why can’t you just follow rules to be close to God?
What does it mean for the Holy Spirit to flow through you?
What is the difference between following God’s way and following man-made rules?
Why is the Holy Spirit compared to a flowing river?

Bonus questions:

What is a cistern, and why is it broken in the article?
What does it mean to trust the Holy Spirit to guide you?
How can the Holy Spirit help you do what’s right?
What is your “fleshly nature,” and why does it try to stop you from listening to God?
Why is your heart described as deceitful and sick in the Bible?

Keep in mind that the term “word” when used in Scripture is translated from either a Greek or Hebrew word that means utterance or a word spoken. God speaks through Scripture and every means of divine revelation mentioned in Scripture. However, when Scripture speaks of “the Word of God,” it never uses a word that means “Scripture.”

Philippians 3:21 says, “Who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.”

This verse promises that believers will receive new, glorified bodies like Jesus’ resurrected body.

Again in 1 Corinthians 15:50-53 it says, “I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.”

This passage also describes the transformation of your earthly body into an immortal, glorified body.

Here, we have it again in Philippians 3:20-21 where it says, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.”

And then there’s 2 Corinthians 5:1-2 that says, “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling.”

Paul contrasts your current, temporary body (he calls it an earthly tent) with the new, eternal body you will receive.

“And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.” (1 Corinthians 15:49)

What a glorious salvation. What a wonderful way. And you are on the journey.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean that your body will be changed?
Your new body be like Jesus’ body. What will that be like?
What does it mean that flesh and blood can’t inherit the kingdom of God?
What is the last trumpet and why is it important?

The human faith is blind.
It leaps into dark,
And hopes to land in light.
It will not trust in God.
It starts with the human,
And that is where it ends.
It does not depend on the person of Jesus.
It can’t receive the things of God.
It is a reasoned faith.

The faith that is of God,
Has eyes to see His will.
It moves the Hand of God,
For it has come from Him
It starts with God,
And God will complete it.
It can’t be found outside of Christ Jesus.
It is not bound by things of earth.
It is the faith of God.

The human hope is weak.
It is a “hope so” hope.
It cannot light the way
It comes from human hearts.
It starts with the human,
And that is where it ends.
It does not depend on the person of Jesus.
Nor can it see the things of God.
It’s merely mortal hope.

The hope that is of God,
Can see what God will do.
It knows His promises,
For it has come from Him.
It starts with God,
And God will fulfill it.
It can’t be found outside of Christ Jesus.
It is not bound by things of earth.
It is the hope of God.

The human love receives.
It does not give away.
It never can be pure.
It comes from human hearts.
It starts with the human,
And that is where it ends.
It does not depend on the person of Jesus.
Nor can it love as Jesus loves.
It’s selfish, fleshly love.

The love that is of God,
Can do what God will do.
It has the pow’r of God,
For it has come from Him.
It starts with God,
And God will complete it.
It can’t be found outside of Christ Jesus.
It is not bound by things of earth.
It is the love of God.

For wisdom, joy, and peace,
And all that’s good and right,
There is a counterfeit,
Or else the genuine
That starts with God, and God is the essence.
That can’t be found outside of Christ Jesus,
That flows from God and can’t be mixed,
With any natural.

Bible: the complete removal of the carnal nature.

Bible: the complete removal of the carnal nature.

Bible: the complete removal of the carnal nature.

“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.” (Romans 8:19-25)

This says “revealing of the sons of God.” Other translations say “manifestation of the sons of God.” The word translated as “revealing” is a word that means “taking away a veil.” In the Bible, the veil is the rebellious carnal nature. It’s the flesh. The adoption is the redemption of our bodies. We’re getting new bodies. Biblical adoption is different from today’s adoption. In Biblical adoption, the son must be born as a true son of the Father. The adoption happens when the son has matured to the point he can be set into a position of authority in the Father’s business.

You mature spiritually as Christ is built up in you and your fleshly carnal nature diminishes. The Bible explains how. Turn your attention to Jesus. Praise and thank Him. Ask Him your questions. Listen as He speaks into your mind and directs you. You will know the difference between your own self-talk and the voice of your Creator. You will begin to see His glory and the body of Christ, and His grace will begin to work through you in what you say. As you yield to His righteousness, you grow.

That brings us back to 1 John 3:2 that says, “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” Christ is in you. He will appear when He’s fully formed and your carnal nature is gone.

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean for the sons of God to be revealed?
Why does creation groan and wait for the sons of God?
What is the bondage of corruption that creation needs to be free from?
What does it mean to get a new body through redemption?
The Bible mentions adoption, but how is the Bible’s adoption different from today’s adoption?

Then you have authority to take hold of the power of grace, and God’s grace will do God’s will through you. You, of course, must yield to God’s grace so He can do His will in and through you. Spirit Transform Me

Luke 9:23 “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (take up his cross daily)
1 Corinthians 15:31 “I die daily.”

Participating in God’s divine nature

Participating in God’s divine nature

Participating in God’s divine nature

Peter speaks of participating in God’s divine nature, a transformation that makes you more like Christ. He gives a list of items you should add to your faith, and then, in 2 Peter 1:4, He says, “Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

Those who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior go to heaven when they die, but that’s not God’s ultimate plan. Death is temporary and won’t always exist. That’s hard to believe, but the Bible says, “We will not all die.” God wants to transform you into the image and likeness of Christ.

The ultimate goal is to fully become like Jesus and to have your spirit, mind, and body completely redeemed (Romans 8:19-23). This means you will be fully like Jesus and will be completely free from all things that hold you back. The way you get there is simple. You come into His presence by seeking Him, thanking Him, and praising Him. All who seek Him find Him. He leads, teaches, and corrects all who follow Him. In His presence, you hear His voice because He speaks into your mind. He shows you the difference between His voice and your own self-talk. He shows you who you are in Him.

The moment you were born again by believing in Jesus, you were changed. Your spirit was set free to serve God. God transformed your spirit from death to life. Your soul (mind) was changed a little bit too. They took on the nature of Jesus Christ, but you were split into two people in your mind. Right next to the holy, perfect Jesus Christ in you, you have a rebellious carnal nature. You are dead to that carnal nature. You are alive to Christ within you and Christ in you is your new self. God is transforming you into the image and likeness of Christ while the carnal nature slowly goes away.

Can God give us a vision of what we are now walking into? Do we see anything in Scripture? Yes, but the vision is incomplete. Scripture tells us eye has not seen nor has the ear heard about this glorious transformation. We see how Jesus appeared on the Mount of Transfiguration. We see the miracles in the Bible. The human mind has trouble seeing that the glory we are walking into is much, much, much higher than any of that.

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean to participate in God’s divine nature?
How do God’s promises help you become more like Jesus?
What is God’s ultimate goal, which is much higher than dying and going to heaven?
What does it mean that death is temporary and won’t always exist?
How can seeking, thanking, and praising God bring you into His presence?

Bonus questions:

What does it mean that your spirit was set free when you believed in Jesus?
Why do you have two parts that fight each other: a holy part and a rebellious carnal nature?
How is God slowly making the carnal nature go away?
What was the Mount of Transfiguration, and why is it important?
Why can’t you fully understand the glory God has planned for you?

SPIRIT OF SONSHIP

SPIRIT OF SONSHIP

SPIRIT OF SONSHIP

Abba Father, the Spirit of sonship cries;
‘Tis deep calling unto deep.
Far, far beyond the scope of natural man lies
The sons’ great eternal prize.

Naught but the Spirit of sonship
Can take the veil away;
Naught but deep calling to deep
Will bring in God’s new day.

Night and day must the cry go forth
From deep down within,
Cleansing, purifying, changing till
I am fashioned just like Him.

Then in all His glorious fullness
I shall come.
Deep will call to deep, Abba Father,
I am Your son! Father, I am Your son!

Put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (This is written to born-again Christians.)

First John 3:2 says, “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

What we will be has not yet fully appeared. He is appearing in us, but too much fleshly nature is still there, so it’s hard to see. We do see Him somewhat. As we see Him, we become like Him.

There are many speculative theologies and theories about how this will happen. We don’t understand all about this transformation, but you know what you must do. You must listen to God’s leading and yield yourself to His Spirit. It’s that simple. The future is glorious.

Ephesians 4:22-24 says, “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”

This passage speaks of putting on a new self, which is made to be like God in righteousness, echoing transformation into Christ’s likeness. We will ultimately be transformed to be like Jesus in His glory.

“Who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.” (Philippians 3:21)

Colossians 3:9-10 says, “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.”

This shows the process of renewal and transformation into the image of Christ as we grow in knowledge.

And 1 Corinthians 15:49 says, “And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.” What a promise!

Ask God to answer these questions:

What does it mean to be a “child of God”?
How will we be like Jesus when He appears?
Why can’t we fully see what we will become yet or that what we will become isn’t fulfilled yet?
What does it mean that Jesus is appearing in us?
How do we “put off our old self” and “put on the new self”?
Bonus questions:

What does it mean to be “renewed in knowledge” in the image of God?
How does listening to God help us become like Jesus?
What does it mean that our bodies will be like Jesus’ “glorious body”?
Why does the Bible say we will “bear the image of the heavenly man”?
What can I do now to grow into the person God wants me to be?
Learn to stand in God’s presence and hear His voice. Then teach others to do the same.

Until Christ is Fully Formed In You

Until Christ is Fully Formed In You

Until Christ is Fully Formed In You

Your walk in the Spirit is not only a journey. It is also a war. The world would like to squeeze you into its mold. You have friends who have allowed the media to push and form them into an ungodly shape. They put pressure on you and want you to be as mixed up as they are. God tells you not to do it. For example, Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” God is able to look into the future. He foreknew all the choices you would make. Romans 8:29 says, “For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” He wants you to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.

Here’s another verse that talks about God’s plan for us to be shaped and transformed into the same image of Jesus: 2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” And here, Paul says he wants Christ to be fully formed in the believers. That shows that this transformation is a process: Galatians 4:19 “My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you.” Christ is in us, and He appears as we look for Him. Then the fleshly veil is removed, and we begin to see Him as He is, a many-membered body on earth in submission to the glorious Head in heaven. Jesus is the Head of the church.

Ask God to answer these questions.
What does it mean that walking in the Spirit is also a war?
How does the world try to squeeze you into its mold?
Why does God want you to be like Jesus?
What does it mean for you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind?
How can God know all the choices you will make?
Bonus questions:

If God knows all the choices you will make, does that mean God forces you to make those decisions?
What is the image of Jesus that God wants you to be like?
Why is the process of becoming like Jesus compared to childbirth?
What does it mean for Christ to be fully formed in you?
What is your fleshly veil, and how does it get removed?
How is Jesus the Head of the church?
