1. The whole world honors an insane way of thinking without absolute truth, and that’s why the world is so crazy.

Instead of praising the Bible, we praise God. And yet, when we read Scripture, we can hear God’s voice. God spoke to men, and those men wrote those words faithfully by the power of the Holy Spirit, and we call the text they wrote “the Bible.” God guided the writing and preserved those words for us supernaturally, so we can receive them today.

However, when the Bible says “word,” it isn’t referring to the Bible. Instead, it refers to “a spoken statement,” “an utterance,” or “a sentence.” “Man shall live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Father.” (Matthew 4:4) Many people assume “the word” is the Bible. That’s why we may have to remind ourselves from time to time that “the word” is God speaking, leading, teaching, and correcting His people. And God can speak through the Bible and every means of divine revelation and leading mentioned in the Bible. God isn’t confined, and He can speak to us in an unlimited number of ways. It would be impossible to list all the ways God can speak since God is infinite. Here are a few examples:

• Bringing Scripture to our memory

42. Ungodly thinkers face Agrippa’s Trilemma (the Münchausen Trilemma). Ungodly thinking can never come to an absolute conclusion. This means ungodly thinkers can never be certain of any claim.

50. Ungodly thinkers make up stories to assert that Christ doesn’t reveal reality to those who follow Him.
51. If you assume what you’re trying to prove, you prove nothing.

JUST CONTENT TO BE A SON

Just content to be a son,
With no ambition to succeed
In realms of earth, and have no need
Of popularity’s acclaim,
Or purchase for myself a name
In serving Christ; for He must be
The Lord throughout eternity.
To see His face and hear His voice,
And do His bidding is my choice.

Just content to be a son,
A son of God without a home,
To stay, or go, or wait, or roam…
Hither and yon without a plan,
Led of the Spirit, not of man.
I’ll have no moment of praise,
But I’ll have peace in God’s own ways;
And though I tread this earthly sod,
I’ll walk with Him, I love in God.

Just content to be a son,
Misunderstood, and yet I know
The path I take shall overflow
With life abundant and with grace.
I only need to run the race
With patience, waiting, seeing Him…
Hearing the still small voice within.
If others want the earth to quake…
I’ll hear His voice when I awake.

Just content to be a son,
No words to say…but what He says;
No work to do…but what He does;
No fear or worry, anxious care,
I live with Him, His yoke I share…
No name to make, He writes His own
Upon the heart’s pure glistening stone;
