FROM DEATH TO LIFE

From death to Life, from doubt to Faith,
From fear to Love, by mighty Grace,
Oh, people, move as I direct you into Light.
And never fear for I am here.
And, as you seek, I will draw near.
And, just ahead, you see the Kingdom shining bright.

It’s given once for men to die,
So Christ has died to satisfy
The debt of sin and death that you could never pay.
The door of life is open wide.

The Kingdom now is here for you.
The King is calling unto you.

I can only imagine what unbelievers would think if confronted with the truth. They already turned away from the Light of Christ because they knew what that Light would do. It would convict them.         It would expose their self-righteousness. It would expose their sins. That Light would ask them to turn from their sins. Those sins are their meaning and purpose. Those sins are the center of their lives. They look at the call of Christ to righteousness and holiness as a form of slavery. They hear about heaven, and it sounds like hell to them. They take pride in their intellect. They take pride in their self-generated goodness and self-styled morality. They love their independence from God, His righteousness, and His love. Then, God tells them everything they value is worthless. Picture the truth falling into the hands of people like that and what they would think. If they do hear the truth, I pray they have the patience to listen and take it to heart. I pray they ask Jesus Christ to reveal Himself to them and show them God’s ways are far above ways that exclude God.

Looking back to the French Revolution, we see the early seeds of the Progressives/Liberals and the Conservatives. The Liberals wanted to be free from dependence on God. The wanted to move quickly to kill all Christians, and they were quite effective at killing. The Conservatives also wanted to be free from any constraints God might put on them, but they wanted to move slowly, or, in extreme cases, wanted everything to remain as it was. In the government, the Liberals sat to the left and the Conservatives sat to the right. Both opposed God but in different ways. They were two sides of the same thing. And yet, there has always been a light. There has always been a remnant wholeheartedly seeking God and His will.

My old habit is to just get things done

I’m still learning to allow the Holy Spirit to lead me in every aspect of my life. My old habit is to just get things done. I tend to jump into analysis and planning without taking time to stand in the presence of the Almighty. So I’m working on that, and it isn’t easy. Often, my own ambitions and thought-habits muffle the voice of God.

Since admitting I depend on Christ has been hard for me, I think it may be hard for some other Christians. I suspect some Christians will have trouble receiving these truths.

The human mind has no path to truth other than Christ. Christ is the Truth. Atheists, skeptics, and agnostics know (but try to rationalize the reality of it away) the secular mind can’t reason to truth. It ends up making up stuff and finding ways to pretend the made-up stuff is true. Even as we, as Christians, reason about what Christ reveals, we end up destroying the truth with our rationalizations. Even the Bible can only be understood as the Holy Spirit speaks through it. God speaks through Scripture and every single means of divine revelation mentioned in Scripture.

Your Covenant With Death

Weakness

It took me decades to accept the weakness of my mind. I had thought my mind was reliable. I did wonder about some of my friends’ minds, but I didn’t question my own. So, learning that my thoughts had no foundation was a shock. I couldn’t believe I based so much of my thinking on vapor. I couldn’t believe I had made up so much of what I thought was real. Some of my thoughts were grounded in truth, but many of them were not. Some had no underlying truth at all

ALL knowledge and wisdom are hidden in Christ. The human mind can’t reason to truth. Without truth, rational thought is impossible. It’s divine revelation or made-up stuff. Made-up stuff is building on sand. Christ is the Rock. The revelation that comes from Christ cannot be separated from Christ, the Rock. However, we can’t store up revelation and keep it alive. Revelation is alive only as it flows from Christ in the moment. We need that kind of relationship, just letting ourselves flow in His wisdom, knowledge, understanding, authority, and power. The minute we disconnect from Christ, we disconnect from the Life. The minute we start to analyze, add our reasoning, or try to figure things out, we pollute the pure revelation.

Weakness

Made-up stuff is building on sand. Christ is the Rock. The revelation that comes from Christ cannot be separated from Christ, the Rock. However, we can’t store up revelation and keep it alive. Revelation is alive only as it flows from Christ in the moment. We need that kind of relationship, just letting ourselves flow in His wisdom, knowledge, understanding, authority, and power. The minute we disconnect from Christ, we disconnect from the Life. The minute we start to analyze, add our reasoning, or try to figure things out, we pollute the pure revelation.

For the Joy of His Appearing

For the joy of His appearing now besets His whole creation,
And they sing and praise the Master, for all that he has done.
The Sons of God declare Him, as they sing their Hallelujahs,
Now they please the Father – They’re the new creation Sons!

Some of your friends and acquaintances make it harder to hear God. Peers pressure you. They’re under the influence of the false teachers, lying counselors, and false prophets you’ve been avoiding. They work against you spiritually. Some of your most caustic contacts stir up fear within you, and you react to that fear instead of listening to God’s voice.

They plant their seeds through the themes of movies, cartoons, and novels. They influence you through entertainment and magazines. They can be very subtle or in your face, but they have their effect. If you’re spending time with any of these, you may wonder why you aren’t making spiritual progress and why God’s voice is hard to discern. Wonder no longer.

A word of warning: false prophets always call real prophets false. It’s part of the game of putting light for darkness and darkness for light. Only in Christ will you have discernment between the genuine and the fake.

They plant their seeds through the themes of movies, cartoons, and novels. They influence you through entertainment and magazines. They can be very subtle or in your face, but they have their effect. If you’re spending time with any of these, you may wonder why you aren’t making spiritual progress and why God’s voice is hard to discern. Wonder no longer.

If you listen to the Spirit,

I’ll confess that I’ve made many mistakes. I’ve been deceived by false teaching, and my deception hurt those around me. I was seeking the mind of God, but my own stubborn will and emotions made me susceptible to deception. Which emotions tripped me? Feeling sorry for myself. Anger. Fear. Bitterness. Worrying that I was missing out. Wanting to be important. Religious pride. Wanting to prove myself right, better, or more understanding than others. Covetousness. Envy. Wanting people to like me. Those aren’t the only possible emotions that could cause problems. Those were my stumbling blocks. Those were the ones that made it hard for me to know the difference between God’s voice and my own voice.
