In the Bible, a ministry is Christ in you.
Many Christians mean “an organization” when they speak of “a ministry.” In the Bible, a ministry is Christ in you. The ministry grows out of the gift, which is Christ in you. The gift was given through prophecy and the laying on of hands of a presbytery. The presbytery is a gathering of elders God has called for the purpose of laying on hands and imparting spiritual gifts. Gifts are active in Christians without this impartation, but the impartation always gives more clarity and authority to the gift. A word of warning: some have taken it on themselves to lay on hands and prophesy over people when God never called them.
