All reasoning or thinking without Christ is insane, irrational, and unsound. We need divine revelation on an ongoing basis. We need a constant connection to Christ. Fortunately, Jesus Christ is the Word, the utterance of God. He is the Light who lights every person. Without that light that is flowing from His throne, all reasoning is groundless, nonsensical, and baseless. Without a foundation of truth, all reasoning is irrational, and Christ is truth and the only Source of truth. Christ, the Word of God, is the Sword of the Lord. God speaks through Scripture and every means of divine revelation mentioned in Scripture. However, we can read Scripture and try to interpret it with our fallen mind or we can listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit as He speaks through Scripture. To hear God’s voice, we must accept His revelation that we are totally dependent on Him for everything: knowledge, truth, wisdom, love, hope, faith, and anything else that is good. Our part is to receive it. When we drift from this understanding, we have no understanding of anything.
