If you hear a word, a prophecy, or a teaching,
don’t receive it because a godly person says,
“I have this from the Lord (or the Bible).”
Don’t receive it because someone says,
“I’m a prophet (teacher, pastor, theologian, or apostle).”
Don’t get swept along by pressure, threats, or emotion.
Rather, ask God to make clear to you
whether you should believe it.
Stand in God’s presence and remain there.
Even if you are deceived for a while,
the Holy Spirit will correct you and teach you.
