HEARING

Once we finally stop struggling to get faith because we realize faith comes by hearing God’s voice, we start an unnecessary struggle to hear God’s voice. I’ve had different people tell me they never hear God’s voice. I suppose they expect the skies to open with flashes of lightning and God’s booming voice shaking the ground. God is speaking. We need to tune in to Him. Everyone hears God’s voice but few acknowledge Him. He’s the Light Who lights every person, even unbelievers. He shines Light on everyone. Not all acknowledge Him. God speaks through the Bible. He speaks through brothers and sisters in Christ. He can give a vision or dream. When you seek Him, God often speaks through a combination of a quiet inner voice, a feeling, your conscience, or your intuition. As you live your life in His Presence, you know what’s right or wrong. You know what to do. You give the next word of the prophecy as it comes to you. You turn from evil toward what’s right. Demonic voices and fallen minds say you can’t tell the difference between God’s voice and something else, but here’s what God says:

“And when He putteth forth His own sheep, He goeth before them, and the sheep follow Him: for they know His voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.” … “I am the Good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and am known of Mine.” … “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:3-5, 14, & 27 KJV).

Most often, we aren’t even conscious of it as we choose between irrationality and being led by Christ while responding in submission. The alternative to allowing the Holy Spirit of Christ to lead us is irrationality. And yet, the spirit of this present age pushes us toward what doesn’t make any sense. Rational thought must be based on truth. All truth is hidden in Christ. The human mind can’t reason to truth, so it just makes up stuff and calls its made-up stuff “true.” No wonder the Bible says its deceitful and desperately wicked, and no one can find out how evil it is.

When this happens, the Holy Spirit will also bring God’s promise to you. You have been delivered. Christ has set you free. The enemy is lying. The enemy doesn’t control you. Your fleshly nature does not control you. You are not a slave. Christ delivered you.

No effort of our own will create faith in us. If we work hard to make ourselves believe, we’ll have a make-believe faith.

FAITH NOT FLESH

No effort of our own will create faith in us. If we work hard to make ourselves believe, we’ll have a make-believe faith. Real faith comes one way. It comes by hearing.

“…you can not generate it; you can not work it up; you can not manufacture it. It is imparted and infused by God Himself. You can not sit in your homes and struggle to have faith, and affirm that something is; nor can you turn your hope and desire into faith by your own power. The only place you can get it is from the Lord,” Charles S. Price, The Real Faith

Dr. Price goes on to talk about “unscriptural mental and intellectual gyrations in our attempt to find a faith we do not possess.” Then He says this:

“Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by a Word of God. Let Jesus speak to this heart of mine and doubts will take the wings of the morning and fly away. Let Jesus breathe a little Word to this poor mind of mine … That is how faith comes! Not through the channels of human concepts. Not along the paths of human understandings. Not by the abilities of minds to comprehend, or the power of the intellect to affirm. … One little Word from Jesus is worth all the words in a dictionary of human language.” Charles S. Price, The Real Faith

If we want faith, we must get into the presence of God so we can listen to His voice. When faith comes, we receive certainty of whatever God told us to do. When God tells us to do something, He gives us authority in the thing He told us to do.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

Faith is substance. That means faith is reality. It’s not conceptual. It’s real. It’s solid. Whatever God told you to do is concrete, and the vision of hope that comes with faith is also concrete. And faith is also evidence. It’s absolutely certain proof of what God said even though you haven’t seen it yet. There’s no doubt is faith. Faith is unwavering and unmoved by anything that comes against it.

“But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:6-8)

We choose between make-believe and faith. Faith comes by hearing God speak.

We choose between make-believe and faith. Faith comes by hearing God speak. We choose between making believe and listening to the Father in submission. The Father speaks to us through the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ. We choose between irrationality and hearing Christ while responding in submission. When the Bible speaks of itself, it uses the word “Scripture,” which indicates what is written. Did you know that when the Bible uses the term “Word of God” it is never speaking specifically of the Bible. When the Bible uses the term “Word of God” it’s talking about God speaking. Now, God does speak through the Bible, and if you read the Bible, you hear God’s voice even if you refuse to listen or acknowledge that God is speaking to you. However, when you read the Bible, God also tells you about other ways God speaks to you. your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21) Without this, we could never know for certain that what we read in the Bible is true, but now, God’s Spirit testifies to us that what we read in the Bible is true. Acknowledge and thank God when He speaks to you. Spend time in His presence listening to His voice. Let Him direct your life. Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

We choose between made-up stuff disguised as reality and divine revelation. That is to say, we choose between make-believe and divine revelation. So we choose between unsound reasoning and divine revelation. Choose to be rational. Choose to stand in God’s presence and listen to His voice leading, teaching, and correcting you. He speaks through Scripture and every means of divine revelation mentioned in Scripture. The fallen human mind will always get Scripture wrong. We can’t figure it out. We need that personal relationship with Christ. He confirms to us that the Bible is true and without error. He continually unfolds the truths in Scripture to us. That means He shines His light on our theologies and shows us where they fall short. All who seek Him find Him. Just as a father won’t give a poisonous snake to a son who asks for a fish, God knows how to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. If you seek Him, you will find Him. His sheep know His voice. If you are just seeking a spiritual experience, you won’t find Him. You must seek Him and His righteousness.

NOW IS THE TIME

Now is the time.
We must go in.
There is no hope from the world.
Let go. Let go.
Now is the time.
Forget all your power and fortune and pride, and go in.

We need Jesus to have any knowledge, wisdom, understanding, truth, love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, inner strength, or faith. You can’t create any of these. You can’t help Christ with any of these. Your part is to yield yourself to Him. Stand in His presence so you can hear His voice. Listen. Yield to His Spirit in willing submission. That’s it.

The Holy Spirit has moved in;
my body is His new abode.
I know He’s working,

IDENTIFICATION
One stronghold in our minds says we ARE the sinful fleshly nature. It’s a lie that Satan has repeated so often it’s become a stronghold. It seems real. It’s a lie. Our true identity is Christ in us the hope of glory. The Holy Spirit will tear down this stronghold. Christ in you is your ministry. That’s who you are. You aren’t the flesh. If you identify with the flesh, you’ll manifest the fruit of the flesh. Your flesh will tell you, “THAT’S HOW GOD MADE YOU.” “YOU CAN’T HELP IT.” “YOUR TENDENCY TO SIN IS WHO YOU ARE.” If you listen to your fleshly mind, you’ll fulfill what it says. You must listen to the Spirit, and the Spirit says, “Christ lives in you, and Christ in you is who you are.” “Christ in you cannot sin, and that’s who you are.” “Christ in you has full authority and power over your flesh and exercises this authority and power when you turn your attention to Christ.” Your flesh isn’t born again and can’t do righteousness. When you were born again, a brand new Person was born in you. Christ in you is born again, not the flesh. How much sin can Christ, He Who is born of God, do? None. How much righteousness can the flesh do? None.
