Faith can also be a special gift to some. Not only that, but faith is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. If faith comes as a fruit of the Spirit, it comes by hearing. If faith comes as a gift of the Spirit, it comes by hearing. The faith to be born again comes by hearing. Any faith you have comes by hearing God leading, teaching, or correcting you. God can speak to you through the Bible. As God speaks through the Bible, He tells you about many of the other ways He speaks to you. God has much more for you than being justified. (see Romans 5:9-11) When you’re justified, God declares you innocent based on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the price. He paid your penalty. Wonderful as that it, God has much more for you. God tells you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (see Romans 12:2) Romans 12:2 speaks of transforming and the renewing in passive voice. That means you aren’t doing it. The Holy Spirit is changing you from glory to glory. (see 2 Corinthians 3:18) The Bible says God will transform (metamorphoo) us. The Greek word, “metamorphoo,” is the same word used to describe Jesus coming when Jesus took Peter and Peter, James, and John the mount of transfiguration. (see Mark 9:1-13, Matthew 16:28-17:1-13, Luke 9:27-36, and 2 Peter 1:16-18). The Holy Spirit does two things in you as He transforms you. He forms Christ in you. (see Galatians 4:19 and Romans 8:29) The sinful nature dies. (see Galatians 5:24, Colossians 3:5, and Romans 13:14) God intends to join the body of Christ to Jesus Christ as the head of the body in one completely formed man. (see Ephesians 4:11-13)
