Salvation is much more than escaping hell.

Salvation is much more than escaping hell.

Almost everything in the New Testament is written to born again Christians to bring them to maturity.

Salvation is much more than escaping hell. You are born again so you can come to maturity. You come to maturity by being led by the Holy Spirit. You come to maturity by listening to the leading of the Holy Spirit so faith comes, and grace is through faith. Grace is the power of God to do God’s righteous work. That work includes healing, deliverance, righteousness, mercy, prophecy, any word spoken by the Holy Spirit, and whatever God leads you to do. He does this work through you. When He does, you are transfigured to a degree.

God wants to set you free from sin, sickness, and death in addition to being set free from punishment in hell. Many get stunted in their spiritual growth right after they are born again. They spend their lives in theological memorization, debates, religious forms, and rituals rather than being led by the Spirit of God and yielding to His Spirit. They may follow a man, an organization, or a set of doctrines and rules rather than following Christ.

Christ has called us to a walk into the image and likeness of Christ from glory to glory as we see His glory (as if looking into a mirror) with the fleshly veil removed. The Holy Spirit performs this. Our part is to listen to His leading and yield to His power so He can say His words and do His acts through us. This will ultimately lead to the manifestation of the sons of God, the redemption of our bodies, and the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
