We don’t worship the Bible as a god, but we worship God Who wrote the Bible, preserved the Bible, and speaks to us through the Bible.
The Father is the first-mover in everything of value. People may read about “the word” or “God’s word” in the Bible and presume “the word” means “the Bible.” If they were to do that, it could give them the wrong impression. This is hard to write about without being misunderstood. It’s not that the Bible isn’t God’s word because it IS God’s word. God speaks through the Bible, and God has permeated the Bible with His Spirit to the point that God speaks to every person who reads the Bible whether they acknowledge Him or not. We don’t worship the Bible as a god, but we worship God Who wrote the Bible, preserved the Bible, and speaks to us through the Bible. We don’t trust the Bible, but we trust God. Instead of praising the Bible, we praise God. And yet, when we read Scripture, we can hear God’s voice. God spoke to men, and those men wrote those words faithfully by the power of the Holy Spirit, and we call the text they wrote “the Bible.” God guided the writing and preserved those words for us supernaturally, so we can receive them today.
