You’re in the Middle of a Hot War in the Spiritual Realm
A real war is in progress in the spiritual realm. You’re in the middle of it.
Because of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, we were all born with a fleshly veil that keeps us from seeing clearly into the spiritual realm. The Bible says the veil is taken away when we focus our attention on Christ. You need to develop your spiritual senses and discernment. Turning your attention to Jesus, asking for wisdom, and believing you will receive it—that’s how you improve your spiritual senses and discernment.
Failure to turn your attention to Jesus ruins your spiritual senses and discernment. When God leads you and you listen and allow God to fulfill His leading in you—that’s how you improve your spiritual senses and discernment. Failure to listen and yield to the Holy Spirit ruins your spiritual senses and discernment. Failure to acknowledge, thank, and glorify God for the leading He gives will ruin your spiritual senses and discernment. If you listen to ungodly sources, you destroy your spiritual senses and discernment.
Scripture is plain on one point. That turning must be complete and without mixture. You benefit nothing from turning to Jesus and still analyzing with your carnal, natural, fleshly mind. The battle is for the mind. Scripture tells you to exercise that mind in you that is the same mind that is in Christ Jesus. It tells you specifically that the double-minded person receives nothing from the Lord. When it says, “Looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith,” the word “looking” is translated from a Greek word that is much stronger. The Greek word means to look at one thing to the exclusion of everything else. The fleshly mind can’t help you, and it can’t be reformed. It must die. It must be transformed by the renewing of your mind as Scripture puts it.
