Anyone who wants to can take a stand against what God is doing, but

The human mind can’t reason to truth. It can reason to strongly held opinion. It can create a worldview that seems more real than real reality. Godless thinking (whether from atheists, other Christians, or yourself) is full of pride. We think our own made-up stuff is golden. We find it easy to poke holes in other people’s made-up stuff but not our own.

So what’s the answer. We need to know the Person Who knows all things, in Whom all knowledge and wisdom are hidden, Who IS the Truth, Who can’t lie, and Who wants a close relationship with us in which He leads and we follow. Of course, that’s Christ.

A neurotic person who loves to argue (skeptic) will then claim you can’t know Christ’s voice or discern it from the voices of demons or your own carnal self-talk. And that would seem to be a valid point if a person has no understanding of what God is doing. God has found some, a few, who are willing to allow Him to transform them from glory to glory. As “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” says it, there is “a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me.” The song doesn’t say how He transfigures you, but the Bible does. The way is simple. Listen to God’s voice and yield to His Spirit. Allow His Spirit to obey the Father through you. Yield the members of your body to His righteousness.

God knows our weaknesses. He knows we get it wrong. He planted the seed (the Word, Jesus Christ) in our hearts at some point, and now He is maturing that Word. We are being transformed. Christ is being fully formed in us. Right now, we are in the interim between the promise and the full possession of the promise. Here’s the wonderful part. Anyone who is willing can find Jesus and join us on our journey to the fullness of Truth.

Anyone who wants to can take a stand against what God is doing, but they destroy themselves in the process. Their end will be painful indeed, and, for that, we feel sorry for them.

The First Step is to be born again. Why is that important? Most people think they’re pretty good. How do you feel about yourself? God is absolutely Holy.

It might seem complicated at first, but it’s very simple. If you want truth instead of lies, you want to be born again. If you want to do good instead of evil, you want to be born again. It’s as simple as believing and receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior from sin, lies, and evil. If you haven’t been born again, He’s calling you right now through this class. Just say, “I receive you, Lord,” and it’s done. If you are already born again, God is going to bring you into conversations with people who need to hear this good news.

The fact that you’re reading this means you’ve probably taken the first step of being born again by believing and receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. You have realized the futility of trying to be righteous by your own strength and have accepted the price Jesus paid by dying on the cross for your sins. You have turned to Jesus and asked Him to be Lord of your life and have yielded yourself to His Holy Spirit.

If not, you must realize that mankind separated itself from God by obeying the devil in the Garden of Eden a few thousand years ago. Since that time, every person born had a sinful nature that rebelled against God and did things that were wrong. God is just by nature, so rebellion must be punished. God had a plan from the beginning to pay the price of your sin. Jesus (God’s spoken Word) Who proceeds from God and is God was born miraculously to a virgin named Mary. He lived a perfect life and never once obeyed Satan. Then, He was obedient to the point that He died on a cross to pay for your sins and the sins of the whole world. To meet God’s requirement of justice, God Himself paid your debt. He not only pardons you, but He also sets you free.

And if you should sin again, He wall again pardon and set you free if you simply confess your sin to Him and ask for forgiveness. If you haven’t received Jesus as your Savior, do that now. He’s with you right now. Speak to Him. Tell Him you’re sorry for the wrong things you’ve done and ask Him to cover those sins with the blood He shed on the cross. He will then forgive you. Ask Him to set you free from habits and bad ways of thinking. Turn your mind over to Him and ask Him to begin leading you. Ask Him to fill you with His Spirit. He will do that for you.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO PRESENT THE GOSPEL?

You should know how to present the gospel. Here’s an example.

God is love. Any sin is rebellion against God. God is also just. That means He must judge any sin. So, if you ever told a lie, even a little one, God must judge you. If you ever took something that didn’t belong to you, God must judge you. If you ever hated anyone, failed to love every person as much as God loves every person, had a sexually impure thought, wanted what someone else had, disrespected your parents, or did anything wrong, God must judge you. Judgement is hell, a terrible ongoing punishment.

God loves you more than you can imagine. He doesn’t want you to go to hell. He wants you with Him in heaven, and He wants to be your friend right now. The trouble is that your sin has made you His enemy. You were born in sin. Everyone is born that way. God wants to set you free from sin, and He has a way.

Your sin broke the law. If you were in court, and the judge said, either pay a six million dollar fine or go to jail, you wouldn’t be able to pay the fine. You would go to jail. If the judge was just, like God is just, he couldn’t let you go. But someone else could pay your fine. God loves you so much that He paid your fine for you by sending His Son, Jesus, to be born as a human, be tempted as a human, never sin even once, and then suffer and die in the most unfair way to pay your fine and set you free. He died for your sin. He rose again from the dead, overcoming death for every person who will receive His free gift of life and righteousness.

Now, your loving God is asking you to accept Jesus Christ into your heart. As He speaks to you through these words on this page and you hear His voice, you can receive what He says. If you do that, you will find faith forming in your heart. You will know Jesus died and rose again to set you free from sin and death. You can confess that you have sinned against God and tell God you accept the work Jesus did to forgive your sins. When you believe and confess in this way, Jesus is formed in your heart. You are born again. You are taken from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of God.

FALSE STRAWMAN FALLACY

Sometimes, those who take the time to learn all about fallacies are worse off than if they hadn’t known anything about fallacies. They have surface knowledge but don’t understand. Here’s an example.

Rocky Rockbuilder: Meeting the definition of a scientific theory requires rigor, but the molecules-to-humankind evolution story doesn’t meet the test of a scientific theory.

Sandy Sandbuilder: The fact that you refer to Molecules-to-humankind evolution demonstrates that you lack of understanding of evolution.

Rocky: How so?

Sandy: Because molecules-to-humankind evolution isn’t a field of study. Using a strawman argument undermines your position significantly because it’s dishonest.

Rocky: Did I say molecules-to-humankind evolution is a field of study, or did I say it’s a story?

Sandy falsely accused Rocky of committing a strawman argument, but Sandy committed a strawman fallacy. Rocky did not. Sandy implied Rocky had said molecules-to-humankind evolution is a field of study when Rocky said molecules-to-humankind evolution is a story. Is molecules-to-humankind evolution a field of study? Does anyone study the story that says molecules morphed into humans over millions of years?

Ungodly thinkers routinely falsely accuse godly thinkers of committing fallacies. They learned the names of many fallacies. However, they didn’t learn to be rational.

Blurring the Line

Anything that blurs the line between reality and make-believe is a fallacy. Fallacies always make it harder to sort out the difference between truth and error.

Warning! Memorizing many fallacies may give you a false sense of security, but it won’t help you be rational. It won’t help you detect irrationality. You can easily irritate other people by claiming they’ve committed one fallacy or another, but you won’t be getting closer to truth.

All truth is hidden in Christ, and all who love truth listen to Christ. Enter into His presence with thanksgiving, honor, and praise. Remember that all who seek Jesus find Him. In Him, they find truth, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and righteousness.

The insanity we see around us today in our so-called “woke” culture can be traced back to the insane philosophy ironically called “Rationalism,” the idea that the human mind can manufacture truth without the benefit of experience, observation, or divine revelation. Add to that the idiotic ways the schools and textbooks have tried to get around the fact that sound reasoning must have valid form and true premises. They failed to account for the fact that the human mind can’t reason to truth, and rational thought is impossible without truth. We even need truth to interpret our experiences and observations. All wisdom and knowledge of truth are hidden in Christ Jesus, and He is the Light Who lights every person that comes into the world. Those who refuse to acknowledge Him, thank Him, and give Him the glory for this knowledge gradually lose the ability to discern the difference between God’s truth and the lies that come from fallen carnal minds or demons.

Why the world has gone crazy.

Agreeing on Premises

Since ungodly thinkers have no path to true premises that prove conclusions, they often suggest an alternative to true premises. They couldn’t prove any of their premises using godless thinking, so they invented a workaround. They decided it’s enough if they agree on premises. Two or more people can agree on certain premises. They pretend the premises are true because they agree on them. Agreeing doesn’t prove the premises, and no one believes the premises have been proven. They just ignore that fact and continue as if the premises were proven. And then, they use unsound logic (logic without true premises) to reason to conclusions. Then, they become dogmatic about those conclusions. This is another part of why the world has gone crazy.

If you agree on the premises rather than proving the premises, you can have a conversation. You can use proper form in your logic all you like, but proper form can’t make your premises true. You could prove you agree on the premises, but you can’t prove the premises. You can’t prove your conclusions are true. You can agree, but you would be agreeing to deceive yourself. Agreement isn’t the same thing as truth.

As you can see, ungodly thinking is a terrible problem. It stumbles around aimlessly in a world of make-believe. Ungodly thinking is always irrational. That’s a problem. Ungodly thinkers try to project their problem onto godly thinkers. However, godly thinking doesn’t have that problem.
