Faith gives you a vision of hope.
“Now faith is the substance [reality as opposed to concept] of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV).
God gives you spiritual eyes to see Christ as He is, and you see He’s a many-membered body.
“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2 KJV).
In God’s vision of hope, He shows you your place in that body. And He shows you the Christ in each member. He leads. You follow by the power of grace. Grace does God’s righteousness through you. [A prayer. A prophecy. A kind word. An act that helps someone. Doing what’s right. Turning from error or sin. Fulfilling a responsibility.] You receive the gift of righteousness and allow it to do what God intended for that moment.
“For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17 KJV).
The Holy Spirit has planted the Seed in your heart, and that Seed is Christ.
“And He spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a Sower went forth to sow; And when He sowed, some Seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold….Hear ye therefore the parable of the Sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received Seed by the way side. But he that received the Seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the Word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the Word, by and by he is offended. He also that received Seed among the thorns is he that heareth the Word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the Word, and he becometh unfruitful. But he that received Seed into the good ground is he that heareth the Word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty” (Matthew 13:3-23 KJV).
That Seed is the Word. The Word proceeds from the Father. The Word is Christ Who now dwells in you.
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4b KJV).
Sometimes, we may forget how powerful the words we speak are. You can speak the Word of God, the Living Christ. By Him, the Father created the universe. He now preserves every created thing and holds it together by the power of His Word. When you speak by the Holy Spirit, you speak the Living Word. You speak Christ. Otherwise, you speak death, darkness, and destruction.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21a KJV).
Let’s go over how God transfigures you once more since this is the whole point of your walk in the Spirit. Think of it as an upward spiral, and each circuit in the spiral begins when God leads you. You hear Him and receive what He says. You listen. Christ authors God’s faith in you. By faith, you see Christ in each member. You see gifts and ministries. And faith also gives you authority in God’s leading. You yield to God’s Spirit, and God’s powerful grace does God’s work through you. The Holy Spirit plants the Seed of Christ in your heart and transfigures you a little to a new level of glory. In a moment you have completed one circuit in the spiral. At that point, Jesus Christ has finished your faith for that circuit since you yielded so God could do His work through you. And then, you continue in this upward spiral moment by moment, day by day, over and over.
