The Spirit of Christ lives in you. He has become part of you. He can do no sin. He only does what’s right and good.

Satan is a liar. He speaks through those who follow him.

Satan is a liar. He speaks through those who follow him. Whoever doesn’t follow Christ is following Satan either knowingly or unknowingly. Many think they are reasoning, but they have no basis for sound reasoning since they have no source of truth. Agrippa the skeptic discovered this 2,000 years ago, and godless thinkers haven’t been able to prove Agrippa wrong. Without Christ, no one can know anything. Christ is the Light who lights every person, but some people refuse to thank Him and honor Him for the amazing gift. Those who do this turn from the Light and walk into ever-increasing darkness. And yet, the door is open to them. God sent His Son, Jesus, Who was willing to die for you. He suffered more than any person has ever suffered to pay your debt. Not only did He pay so your lack of love and selfish acts could be pardoned, but He can also set you free from your bondage to the corrupted human nature that makes mistakes, thinks terrible thoughts, and does terrible things that hurt others.

RELEASED FROM CAPTIVITY

Our God, in Christ, released us from captivity,
From slavery to sin, He sets the captive free.
The Lord sheds His own light upon all human hearts;
For those who won’t respond, God’s radiance soon departs.

So many like to claim an inner righteousness,
But God has told us all, there’s nothing good in us.
The human flesh, that strong, deceptive, wicked force,

The flesh will get religious.

The flesh will do anything to keep us from God’s ultimate blessing. Our fleshly nature doesn’t want us standing in God’s presence listening to His voice and yielding in obedience to His Spirit so God can say His words and do His acts through us. In God’s presence, the fleshly nature gradually fades away if we yield to God’s Spirit in willing obedience.

The flesh will get religious. The fleshly reasoning will put the Bible in God’s place so we worship and revere the Bible rather than knowing Christ. It will twist Scripture that says we should listen to God’s word (meaning God speaking to us) and interpret it to say “Read your Bible and try to understand the Bible on your own without the miraculous intervention of the Holy Spirit. It will take yesterday’s partial revelation, build a wall of protection around it, and fill in the blanks with many assumptions. It will direct us into a certain formula and convince us that the formula will bring us into the Kingdom. It will direct us to avoid all sorts of specific things, some of which are good to avoid. It will show us 6, or 8, or 10 laws to follow rather than walking in the Spirit. It will take a true prophecy and turn it into a law or principle. The thing it doesn’t want is our personal, moment-by-moment relationship with Christ. It doesn’t want God leading us. It doesn’t want us following God because that is a walk from glory to glory that destroys that rebellious fleshly nature and completes the work of forming Christ in us. It knows that self-righteousness is spiritually worthless, but the Holy Spirit will lead us into true righteousness and holiness.

“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living water, and they have dug their own cisterns—broken cisterns that cannot hold water. Jeremiah 2:13

Why God’s order? We can’t attain God’s high calling independently.

We can’t attain God’s high calling independently. We need Christ the body. We need to recognize Christ as He is unveiled in His body. Brother H. Holt wrote, “In the body of Christ, there is no such ministry as an independent one” and “The sons of God have learned the secret of obeying.” Being led implies obedience. It implies submission to God’s delegated authority through His body. The flesh hates submission and obedience. However, the rebellious fleshly nature must decrease as Christ is fully formed within. That’s what spiritual maturity is, but spiritual maturity is much more than what God builds in us individually. The Holy Spirit is fitting us into our unique, God-ordained places in this body. God will sort out who goes where, and no human effort can change God’s plan. At the final coming of the Lord in His body, we will all come in the unity of the faith and knowledge of the Son of God to One Perfect Man. We will come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Ep. 4:12-13) The Holy Spirit will have transfigured us into the image and likeness of Christ. And we will walk in total submission to Christ the Head and in God’s perfect Scriptural order. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

If we were merely individuals waiting to die so we could go to heaven, God’s pattern for Christ the body would consist of unimportant details. However, God is building a holy temple that must be constructed according to His Scriptural pattern. This pattern is Christ. The temple has a foundation of apostles and prophets who work according to the pattern of Scripture with Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone. Even if we build on the foundation, we build as the Holy Spirit leads since our work will be tested by fire. (1 Co. 3:13) The reason God tests everything by fire is that this body is the living Christ manifested on earth.

Real Hope

Real hope is not an “I hope so” hope.
Real hope flows from God’s Spirit.
Real hope is the vision of what God is going to do.
Real hope knows the plans God has for us.
Plans of good and not of evil.

God is forming you into the member of His body He created you to be. As you look into God’s spiritual mirror of hope, you see who you are in Christ and how you fit into the body of Christ. You see your brothers and sisters after the spirit and not after the flesh. You need to discern the body of Christ. You need to recognize the ministries of your brothers and sisters. You’re standing in the presence of Christ when you’re in their presence.

So from now on we regard no one according to the flesh. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:16

You HAVE a carnal nature. You ARE the ministry within, the Christ in you. That’s what Romans 7 states so clearly.

I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do. But what I hate, I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I admit that the law is good. In that case, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do. Instead, I keep on doing the evil I do not want to do. And if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. ~ Romans 7:15-20
